This management assignment contains three reports. The first one is a group work assignment dealing with cultural issues relating to leave granted for religious reasons encountered in La Poste, the French national mail service. The second is a case study focusing on Saudi Arabia and presenting different cultural issues which should be considered in the context of inter-cultural management when working with Saudi Arabians. The final report deals with Transnational Software Developers Ltd. The case study focuses on cultural partners, leadership recruiting, and managing a multicultural workforce, and business development in the different geographic locations.

I. Identification of the situation
La Poste is public organism which provides bank and mail services. It has been so far a laic company, which implies no referral to political or religion purpose. In this company, the tradition had been to allow all the employees to benefit from the same public holidays. But these holidays concern both National days and catholic days. Since recently, Muslim confession people owe their own religion holidays, on top of catholic and national holidays.
The process is the following: managers receive requests coming from employees to take their Muslim days off. Then, the managers refer of their personal feelings about the opportunity of the request to the Resources Human Department. This department is in charge of delivering acceptance or refusal.
Today, only Muslim employees have their religion holiday added to the public holiday. It constitutes a real issue since other employees consider that as an unfair advantage.
II. The impact on productivity of the company
This situation has bad impact on the productivity:
- The reduction of workers creates an under staff situation
- It has negative influences on the team spirit.
- It implies feelings of unfairness, conducting to an unproductively situation.
