Presentation
The survey was conducted through M/S Sarwate & Associates in Pune and its main objectives are to:
1. Collect true and factual data, free from personal bias and opinion, for an objective evaluation and indicating observable phenomena presented factually as a sign of problems in their constituency.
2. Make research more progressive with the help of suggestions given by the people.
3. Know the attitudes and beliefs of people towards their current Corporators
4. See people's regularity in voting.
5. Record people's perceptions about the work of the Corporators.
6. Find out voting intentions for the next election
7. Interact with a maximum number of people to know the current status regarding the main problems pertaining in their constituency.

RESEARCH APPROACH:
The research assignment under focus was aimed at gathering vital information about people’s awareness about the political situation of their area.
Survey was found to be the most suitable method, keeping important factors like time frame; cost. It is most widely used approach in data collection and is best suited for descriptive research. The advantages of the approach used are:
1. Provides larger and faster coverage
2. Low costs involved
3. One to one interaction with people
4. Data is easier to compile and categorize.
5. Analysis done on the basis of listed question.
SAMPLE DESIGN:
A sample as the name implies, is a smaller representative of a large whole. A sample design is a definite plan for obtaining a sample from a sampling frame. It refers to the technique or the procedure, the researcher would adopt in selecting items for the sample from which the inferences of people is drawn. Sample design is determined before the data are collected.
While developing a sample design, the researcher must pay attention to the following points:-
• Type Of Universe:
The first step in developing any sample design is to clearly define the set of objects, technically called the Universe. The universe can be finite or infinite.
The population of a city, number of workers in a factory are examples of finite universe, whereas the number of stars in the sky, listeners of specific radio etc. are the examples of infinite universes.
• Sampling Unit:
A decision has to be taken concerning a sampling unit before selecting the sample. Sampling unit may be a geographical one such as state, district etc. or a construction unit such as house, flat, etc. or it may be a social unit such as family, club, school etc., or it may be an individual. The researcher will have to decide one or more such units that he has to select for his study.
In my project the geographical coverage was limited to PMC region. The survey was conducted at New English School (Ramanbag), ward no. 52.
• Sample Size:
This refers to the number of items to be selected from the universe to constitute a sample. The size of sample should be optimum. An optimum sample is one which fulfills the requirements of efficiency, representativeness, reliability and flexibility. In this project the sample size was 150.
